One Direction is my daughter’s favorite band. Harry Styles is her favorite singer. I was moved when she texted me about Liam’s tragic death. It broke my heart to hear about Liam’s passing because I hurt when my little girl hurts. (She’s in college, but she’ll always be my one and only little girl)
The news of Liam Payne’s death sparked instant PTSD in me because a couple of years ago, I lost Neil Peart of the band RUSH.
Just as One Direction is my daughter’s fav, RUSH is mine. Losing Neil Peart, the lyricist and drummer for RUSH, drove me into depression for six months, so I can empathize with the family, friends, bandmates, and fans of Liam Payne.
I’m very sorry for your loss, and I thank you for watching because we need to share and reach out when we’re hurting. It’s not good to be alone and isolated during dark times.
If you guys would like to hear from my daughter in the future, let me know, and perhaps we can make another video together. She’s a Film & TV production student, just like I was long ago, and I’m very proud of the uber-intelligent, super hilarious, and extremely kind young lady my daughter has become.
