Beginning in John chapter 2, and continuing through chapter 12 (John 2-12) is the first main section of this Gospel, in which seven great signs pointing to the deity of Christ are recounted.
The word “sign,” used seventeen times in this Gospel, is the term John used for “miracle.”
The Seven Signs of Christ are:
- Changing The Water Into Wine (John 2).
- Healing The Officer’s Son (John 4).
- Healing The Cripple (John 5).
- Feeding the 5,000 (John 6).
- Walking on Lake Galilee (John 6).
- Healing The Man Who Was Born Blind (John 9).
- Raising Lazarus From The Dead (John 11).
Of these, Numbers 2,4, and 5 are also found in the synoptics.
