Art as expression – NOT as market campaigns, will still capture our Imaginations
Mark 10:5-9 RSV
But Jesus said to them, “For your hardness of heart he wrote you this commandment.
But from the beginning of creation, ‘God made them male and female.’
‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two but one flesh.
What therefore God has joined together, let not man put asunder.”
That this parable is an unqualified tragedy, first to last, may not be doubted, despite the rejoicing over the return of the prodigal; and, as is the case in many of Jesus’ teachings, the total unworthiness of the human race in the sight of God is plainly taught.
By such a choice of platform, performing the miracle at a wedding, from which to launch his world-saving ministry, Christ conferred upon marriage his approval, encouragement, and blessing. The literal enrichment of that bride and groom symbolizes the enrichment that always follows the welcoming of Christ into the homes and hearts of people.
