The Holy Spirit is the blessed Spirit, a member of the GODHEAD, who takes up residence in Christian hearts in consequence of their being sons of God (Galatians 4:6), and in fulfillment of the apostolic promise of such an indwelling to all believers who will repent and be baptized for the remission of sins (Acts 2:38f), and is thus identifiable as the “Holy Spirit of promise” (Ephesians 1:13).
Fundamental truth of the most basic nature is openly denied or presumptuously ignored by an age that seems to feel that it has outgrown such elementary things as these; and, therefore, we may be thankful indeed for the inspired outline of things which actually constitute fundamental Christian doctrine.
It is fitting enough, and absolutely in accord with what is revealed in the prophets that the judgment should finally come at the end of the Fourth Great Transgression of humanity.
The analogy becomes a contrast in the matter of how many may win. In the earthly contest, only one receives the prize; but in the heavenly contest, every man may do so, since his victory does not depend upon any relationship between his achievement and the achievement of his fellow contestant.
Heaven is Real!
Don’t let anyone persuade you with the Satanic Propaganda that HEAVEN and HELL are not real, but only biblical metaphors!
Anyone pushing this false teaching, this new age, feel good, so-called religious garbage will have to answer to God in person on Judgment Day, before His throne in HEAVEN!
Why should a Christian give?
When the seed is planted, and it lands on good soil, the Lord can do beautiful things with it, and the Christian servants it yields are for GOD’S GLORY, not mine or anyone else’s.
“I am the bread of life” is one of the SEVEN great “I AM’S” of John.
HOPE for the Christian is Christ the Lord, who has entered into that which is beyond the veil, that is, into heaven itself; and this corresponds to the actions of the ancient high priest who was typical of Christ in that he went into the Holy of Holies, behind the veil, in the tabernacle.
The entire teaching of Christ is oriented to the doctrine of the resurrection.
Things not seen, that are invisible, include everything in the whole area of faith, the creation of the universe, the incarnation of Christ, the judgment of the world by the deluge, the second advent of Christ, the final judgment, the ultimate reception by every man of the destiny, good or bad, that shall be assigned to him by God’s enforcement of universal judgment, founded on justice and mercy.
Christ made it clear enough that salvation is the result, not of merely believing but of believing and being baptized. The preconditions upon which Christ promised to transfer sinners into himself are here stated as faith and baptism.
The Sovereign MUST of Almighty God Overshadows the Bible.
Dr. Elton Stubblefield, a director of DNA research at the M. D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, recently declared in a public address that each cell (and, remember there are trillions of them) at the moment of conception is supplied with a library of one quarter of a million words commanding that cell exactly how many times to multiply, and when to die.
Attempting to hide from God has been the chief business of the human family ever since Adam and Eve hid themselves in the Garden of Eden! Think of the myriads of ways in which men try to hide from God.
It is nothing short of amazing that the Christ should have found foreshadowings in this event of his own redemptive work on the Cross, but there cannot be any doubt of it, and we therefore receive this event in certain particulars of it as a Type of Christ.
The mystery of how God cares for the myriads of his creatures both great and small is an unfailing marvel. Anyone familiar with wild life is aware of the remarkable continuation of every species from age to age. That God does indeed do this is a certainty.
In Acts 1:9-12 a cloud obscured the actual “going up” of Jesus; and, as the holy angels announced the ascension in connection with that disappearance, their word identifies that event as the ascension.
Christ is indeed Wonderful in whatever dimension one views him. He is wonderful in his pre-existence, in his Virgin birth, in his role as executive in Creation and in the “upholding” of our universe.
Many people, even Christians unfortunately, grow accustomed to being in darkness, which becomes comfortable for them. The comfort is a lie, from the father of lies.
I found this on one of my journeys to the great state of Florida.
