THE TEMPLE IN HEAVEN

“Now the point in what we are saying is this: we have such a high priest, one who is SEATED at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven, a minister in the sanctuary and the true tent which is set up not by man but by the Lord.”
Hebrews 8:1‭-‬2 RSV

Two words in these verses challenge our attention because of the paradox, Hebrews 8:1 presenting our Lord as “seated,” whereas Hebrews 8:2 hails him as a “minister of the sanctuary,” that is, “a servant.”

Both seated AND serving, therefore, our Lord is contrasted with the temporal high priests who found no chair within the Holy of Holies, thus never being seated, and never permitted to remain except for a short period of time.

The seated and serving Christ, on the other hand, abides in perfect and eternal control of the ministry on behalf of man which does not require that he busy himself with this or that, but which service has already been essentially completed, requiring only his presence upon the throne of God to assure its perfect administration and efficacy.

THE ASCENSION OF JESUS CHRIST – Easter 2023

In Acts 1:9-12 a cloud obscured the actual “going up” of Jesus; and, as the holy angels announced the ascension in connection with that disappearance, their word identifies that event as the ascension.

THE GREAT COMMISSION

This Great Commission, as the saints of all ages have consented to call it, constitutes the marching orders of his church for a day and to all eternity. It is a whole galaxy studded with many of the biggest stars in the firmament of Christian doctrine.

The Virgin Birth of Jesus Christ

The Virgin Birth is a prominent and essential teaching of the Christian religion.

To give up the doctrine of virgin birth is to sacrifice the integrity of the gospel authors, the convictions of the apostolic church, and the entire premise of supernatural religion as revealed in the Holy Bible.

THE TEN EPIPHANIES OF JESUS AFTER HIS RESURRECTION

The first five of those appearances occurred on the day of his resurrection, and the other five later, during the interval before his ascension.

THE PRE-EMINENCE OF PETER

This promise, emphatically delivered to Peter here, was also the property of the Twelve and not Peter’s exclusively. All of the apostles, not merely Peter alone, were included in this promise. Matthew 16 & 18

THE LORD’S PRAYER

What is the “Manner of The Lord’s Prayer”? How should we pray?
