THE GREAT COMMISSION

This Great Commission, as the saints of all ages have consented to call it, constitutes the marching orders of his church for a day and to all eternity. It is a whole galaxy studded with many of the biggest stars in the firmament of Christian doctrine.

BEHOLD! The Virgin Shall Conceive And Bear a SON

And Jehovah spake again unto Ahaz, saying, Ask thee a sign of Jehovah thy God; ask it either in the depth, or in the height above. But Ahaz said, I … Continue reading BEHOLD! The Virgin Shall Conceive And Bear a SON

The Necessity For The Virgin Birth – “She was delivered of a MAN-CHILD.”

God entered the ranks of humanity, became a man in the person of his son Jesus Christ, and paid the penalty for human sin, laying upon himself in the person of his Son the iniquity of us all.

In the Christian religion, God Himself pays the penalty of redemption.

The Virgin Birth of Jesus Christ

The Virgin Birth is a prominent and essential teaching of the Christian religion.

To give up the doctrine of virgin birth is to sacrifice the integrity of the gospel authors, the convictions of the apostolic church, and the entire premise of supernatural religion as revealed in the Holy Bible.

THE CRUSADE AGAINST JESUS CHRIST

Having determined that Jesus was not the type of Messiah they wanted, the priestly leaders of the people exhausted their resources of cunning and deceit in an all-out campaign to convince the people that Jesus was not the Christ.

HOW CAN THESE THINGS BE? – John 3

The natural man finds it very difficult to receive spiritual things, due to his inherent preoccupation with the mechanics of them, the “how” of everything. Nicodemus’ question is therefore one of remarkable interest to all. How persistently man probes every mystery!

THE SEVEN GREAT “I AM’S” OF JESUS CHRIST – Gospel of John

“I am the bread of life” is one of the SEVEN great “I AM’S” of John.

GOD’S PLAN OF SALVATION

Christ made it clear enough that salvation is the result, not of merely believing but of believing and being baptized. The preconditions upon which Christ promised to transfer sinners into himself are here stated as faith and baptism.

INTO THE DARKNESS

Many people, even Christians unfortunately, grow accustomed to being in darkness, which becomes comfortable for them. The comfort is a lie, from the father of lies.

ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE

The love of Christ has nothing to do with the worldly concept, but when you define love as Jesus does, the then title works!

WHY LOVE IS THE GREATEST THING – 1 Corinthians 13

1 Corinthians 13 may be viewed as one of the most important in Scripture, not merely for the truly marvelous things said of LOVE, but also for the firm word therein regarding the cessation of the miraculous age.

CHRIST AND A STONE – THE ROCK OF OUR SALVATION – Matthew 21

The example of a rejected stone becoming the chief stone was founded on historical fact.

LET US NOT SLEEP – LET US KEEP AWAKE AND BE SOBER – 1 Thessalonians 5

Darkness is used here as antithetical to light, and very similarly to the writings of John; these passages refer not to literal darkness and light, but to the state of rebellion against God (darkness) and to the state of obedience (light).

DO NOT QUENCH THE SPIRIT – 1 Thessalonians 5

The word for “quench” was used of putting out a fire, and the thought is that the child of God should not put out the sacred fire within.

LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE! – Matthew 5

What then should be done with the light or influence of the Christian’s life?

It should be placed upon
“THE STAND.”

THE ONE BODY – 1 Corinthians 12

God saves people, not by injecting righteousness into them (on the grounds of their faith and/or obedience), but by transferring them “into Christ,” identifying them “as Christ,” and making them, in fact, to be Christ.

CHRIST AND MAN’S SIN – John 1

Christ bore our sins in his own body on the tree, thus accomplishing what no typical lamb ever achieved.
