Art as expression – NOT as market campaigns, will still capture our Imaginations
The mystery of the Christian religion far surpasses anything affected in the mysteries of the Greeks, and notably in the fact of its having been foreordained in God’s purpose even before the creation of the world.
John means the place of the final struggle between the powers of evil and the kingdom of God. And where is any such place if it is not in the hearts of people? Everywhere in the New Testament, the element of victory through judgment is an inescapable aspect of Christ’s total work. This battle is between the truth in Christ and the evil propaganda of Satan, and the truth of Christ will win.
The tragic consequences of failure to observe this principle of secrecy are today clearly visible on a national scale where the state’s ostentatious helping of the poor has degraded millions who, stripped of every dignity, must stand in line, bare the innermost secrets of their souls to “case workers,” and finally sink into a state of permanent and professional poverty and the complete abandonment of self-esteem, self-reliance, and responsibility.
With reference to this metaphor itself, a stone is among the most interesting things on earth; and every stone has a life story, the mystery of which encompasses the most fantastic dimensions of time and space.
Ecclesiastes 9:11 is another reason why the righteous sometimes suffer, whereas the wicked sometimes prosper and are honored.
The thought of this verse is that God entrusted the gospel to people who had none of the trappings of earthly power and honor, in order that the great success of the gospel would not be accredited to its messengers as men, but unto the eternal God who inspired them.
The wicked man does not change his plans but with relentless determination moves toward his carnal goals in which, he seems to prosper in all of them.
