Genesis 1:11-13
This ten commandments covenant, the first and old covenant, is the one in view by the author of Hebrews is evident and becomes certain in the light of his mention of “the tables of the covenant” being placed within the ark of the covenant (Hebrews 9:4).
The Ark is a type of Christ, the preserver of his people from judgment. The spiritual teaching of Noah’s deliverance has always been recognized by Christians, who see in the Ark a symbol of the church into which they are admitted by baptism, God thereby graciously providing for their deliverance from the wrath and destruction due to sin.
The Great Flood attested both by the Word of God and evidence from the natural world in which we live.
In addition, every culture, from every continent, has historical records of a great floor happening in ancient times.
Christ made it clear enough that salvation is the result, not of merely believing but of believing and being baptized. The preconditions upon which Christ promised to transfer sinners into himself are here stated as faith and baptism.
This is the doctrine of Retribution, and God is the moral Governor of the world.
