THE WITNESS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT – Romans 8

THANKSGIVING IN EVERYTHING

Thanksgiving In everything.

The text before us stresses the need of prayer in all of life’s conditions and circumstances.

THE TENTH COMMANDMENT – THOU SHALT NOT COVET – Exodus 20

The 10th commandment is the most comprehensive of the commandments, forbidding ALL unlawful desire of every kind.

TRAGEDY IN THE FAR COUNTRY – Luke 15

We should remember that the prodigals are still with us, still enraptured with that mysterious allure that the fire has for the moth. This tragedy is reenacted somewhere on Earth every day.

NONE IS GOOD SAVE ONE, EVEN GOD – Mark 10

In an absolute sense, goodness belongs to God the Father alone.

THE PRODIGAL SON – WILL GOD RUN? – Luke 15

That this parable is an unqualified tragedy, first to last, may not be doubted, despite the rejoicing over the return of the prodigal; and, as is the case in many of Jesus’ teachings, the total unworthiness of the human race in the sight of God is plainly taught.

THE NINTH COMMANDMENT – THOU SHALT NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS AGAINST THY NEIGHBOR – Exodus 20

The imagination of men is involved in the violation of this commandment, because, if one does not tell the truth, the imagination is the only source of what he does tell.
