THE CHRISTIAN VIEW OF THE STATE

There are two kinds of states; and, besides that, the same principles of submission are enjoined upon Christians with reference to both kinds, as plainly indicated in Revelation 13:10 where John implied the very fullest consonance with all that Paul and Peter wrote.

REPENT, AND BE BAPTIZED EVERY ONE OF YOU IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF YOUR SINS; AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE THE GIFT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. – Acts 2

The idea of an unbaptized Christian is simply not entertained in the New Testament.

“WE KNOW!” – THE THREE GREAT CERTAINTIES of GOD – 1 John 5

We are “in Christ,” having believed in him and having been baptized into the “one body,” Christ’s spiritual body. As a result of Christ’s redemptive work, we enjoy eternal life (presently, in the joys of Christian service, and ultimately, throughout all eternity).

OUR SUFFERINGS IN THIS PRESENT TIME – Romans 8

Such is the darkness of the epic tragedy of mankind, lost in sin, without God, and without hope in the world, until they shall turn to the Lord Jesus Christ.

WHO SHALL DELIVER ME OUT OF THE BODY OF THIS DEATH? Romans 7

This is the cry of every man who is not saved. In the large view, it is the agonizing cry of all the world, especially of the benighted populations of the pre-Christian ages.

NINEVEH THAT GREAT CITY – Jonah 1

The present day conception of God as a mild, indulgent father-image of one who loves everybody no matter what they do, and as one who will never actually punish anyone, is a gross perversion of the truth.

WHEN THE WICKED RISE, MEN HIDE THEMSELVES! – Proverbs 28

It is always a sad day for humanity when an evil man procures great authority. Joseph Stalin, for example is credited with murdering over thirty million people!
