Art as expression – NOT as market campaigns, will still capture our Imaginations
This ten commandments covenant, the first and old covenant, is the one in view by the author of Hebrews is evident and becomes certain in the light of his mention of “the tables of the covenant” being placed within the ark of the covenant (Hebrews 9:4).
In Hebrews 8:6-7, this “new covenant” is contrasted with what is called “the first covenant,” or “the old covenant,” indicating that the new covenant would replace not merely those lesser covenants, but it would take the place of that covenant which was so great and comprehensive, overshadowing all others, that God called it the “first covenant.”
In Acts 9:4 appears one of the profoundest doctrines of Christianity, namely, that Christ is still upon earth in the person of his followers who compose his spiritual body; and that whatever is done to Christ’s church is done to himself!
Having determined that Jesus was not the type of Messiah they wanted, the priestly leaders of the people exhausted their resources of cunning and deceit in an all-out campaign to convince the people that Jesus was not the Christ.
The Elect are people who will love God and choose to serve him are “the elect” foreordained before all time to inherit eternal salvation.
It is fitting enough, and absolutely in accord with what is revealed in the prophets that the judgment should finally come at the end of the Fourth Great Transgression of humanity.
