THANKSGIVING IN EVERYTHING

Thanksgiving In everything.

The text before us stresses the need of prayer in all of life’s conditions and circumstances.

Any list, therefore, of things we should pray for must be partial and incomplete. “Everything” certainly covers a lot of territory.

THE ONE BODY – 1 Corinthians 12

God saves people, not by injecting righteousness into them (on the grounds of their faith and/or obedience), but by transferring them “into Christ,” identifying them “as Christ,” and making them, in fact, to be Christ.

THE SECOND COMMANDMENT – THOU SHALT NOT MAKE UNTO THEE ANY GRAVEN IMAGE – Exodus 20

By its very nature any religious image is false, being a lying, man-made, presentation of what is allegedly represented.

REPENT, AND BE BAPTIZED EVERY ONE OF YOU IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF YOUR SINS; AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE THE GIFT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. – Acts 2

The idea of an unbaptized Christian is simply not entertained in the New Testament.

“WE KNOW!” – THE THREE GREAT CERTAINTIES of GOD – 1 John 5

We are “in Christ,” having believed in him and having been baptized into the “one body,” Christ’s spiritual body. As a result of Christ’s redemptive work, we enjoy eternal life (presently, in the joys of Christian service, and ultimately, throughout all eternity).
