THE 7 MIRACLES AT CALVARY – Matthew 27

There are actually seven Calvary miracles, the greatest and most wonderful, of course, being the resurrection of Christ. The rending of the veil, occurring simultaneously with the death of Christ, must be associated with that death; and, looking more closely, it is plain that the veil, in practically all of its functions and even in its colors, was a most instructive type of Christ.

BROTHERLY LOVE – Hebrews 13

Every man is my brother; for, if I miss him in Christ, I shall hit him in Adam!

DO NOT QUENCH THE SPIRIT – 1 Thessalonians 5

The word for “quench” was used of putting out a fire, and the thought is that the child of God should not put out the sacred fire within.

TRAGEDY IN THE FAR COUNTRY – Luke 15

We should remember that the prodigals are still with us, still enraptured with that mysterious allure that the fire has for the moth. This tragedy is reenacted somewhere on Earth every day.

THE PRODIGAL SON – WILL GOD RUN? – Luke 15

That this parable is an unqualified tragedy, first to last, may not be doubted, despite the rejoicing over the return of the prodigal; and, as is the case in many of Jesus’ teachings, the total unworthiness of the human race in the sight of God is plainly taught.

THE SEVENTH COMMANDMENT – THOU SHALT NOT COMMIT ADULTERY – Exodus 20

As in most of the others, with regard to committing adultery, GOD did not give a reason for this prohibition. NONE WAS NEEDED.

ASLEEP IN JESUS – John 11

The respect of the human race for this word of Jesus Christ is revealed in the fact of their inscribing these words, “Asleep in Jesus,” upon millions of tombs in all ages since then.
